What exactly is Parkinson’s, however? In simple terms, Parkinson’s is a brain disorder that, over time, can lead to shaking, stiffness, problems with walking, balance and coordination. Equally, speech may become more challenging, and dopamine, the “happy hormone”, may start to decline.

Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition worldwide and affects about 145,000 people just in the UK. Although nobody knows why, it bears upon more men than women. And, although most people develop the disease from 60 years onwards, there are earlier onset cases, too.

As you can imagine, caring for someone with this condition will be more than just looking after their physical or bodily needs. Our caregivers are highly trained in all aspects of the disease and will help you meet your challenges head-on.
