Cambridge Homecare is a specialist nurse-led division of Eaton Homecare Ltd working exclusively for the NHS assisting with patient discharge and hospital avoidance, operating across Cambridge City and the East Cambridgeshire areas.
A family business, with excellent credentials extending back over 50 years, Cambridge Homecare is an established home care provider founded upon two generations of experience.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and high demand for care, Cambridge Homecare is seeking to recruit additional health care assistants and discharge planners to support our NHS. Working in the community, you would be caring for medically optimised patients being discharged from hospital into their own homes.
The Government has instructed all acute and community hospitals in England to reduce the number of people occupying hospital beds, discharging patients as soon as they are clinically safe to do so.The goal is to discharge 15,000 hospital patients this week, starting Monday 23 March 2020, 95 per cent of them to their own homes.
We need experienced health care assistants and discharge planners to join us today and help us help the NHS by caring for these patients in their own homes. We are also accepting applications from those new to care to join the team as trainee care workers.
Urgent appeal for new staff
We need nurses, experienced and trainee health care assistants, trainee (new to care) and discharge planners to join us today and help us help the NHS.
We have launched an urgent appeal for new staff to help provide care for medically optimised patients being discharged from hospital, hence helping to free up beds for the expected admission of COVID-19 patients in the area.
Applications are being invited from people with relevant experience or those who are new to the care sector, from Cambridge and East Cambridgeshire. Immediate training will be provided.
Caroline Freeman of Cambridge Homecare said: “Cambridge Homecare is a nurse-led specialist care provider which solely works with the NHS. We have an immediate, increased need to assist in the process of discharging clinically fit patients from hospital, and to avoid as many hospital admissions as possible.
We urgently need an increase of community staff within the Cambridge and East Cambs areas, and we are currently running a rolling training programme to meet this current need, whilst keeping staff safe and well and following advice from HM Government.”
