So, this page is for you. It has all the stages you need to follow and in what order, carefully explained in jargon-free language to keep things simple
Since we were founded, Eaton Home Care has supported the needs of hundreds of older or vulnerable clients across Cambridgeshire and North Hertfordshire. We have over 60 years’ combined expertise in the care sector, including working with Addenbrookes Hospital, NHS community teams and the Local Authority
1.Talk to Your Family and Friends
They know you best.
Or, you know your Mum or Dad best. A good starting point is an honest chat about how things are now, what the issues may be, and how things could be in the future without care at home.
What has happened that prompted this discussion?
We appreciate that this may not be easy; certainly, if there has been a cognitive decline and a condition such as dementia is involved, denial can play a significant role. But, as much as possible, it is good to be on the same side.
2.Book a Consultation
When thinking about how to plan home care, you may not know what you need. And, why should you? Most likely, this is an unknown – either for you or a loved one. Call us on 01223 857 235 or email us through this website.
3.Let Us Organise a Visit
And, as time may be of the essence, let’s do this quite quickly. As a concerned relative, you’ve realised that you can no longer leave your loved one at home all day, so you’ll be keen to take action.
We’ll arrange a no obligation visit at your home to answer any questions you may have. At this visit we can also conduct a care, medication and needs assessment. Also, this will allow us to spot any safety concerns or risks that may pose a problem.
Your assessor will establish the urgency of your situation. Perhaps you are on an NHS or ICT pathway and help will be required when funding finishes.
4.Your Streamlined Care Plan
With your agreement to proceed, Eaton Home Care will develop a care plan that is tailored to your needs:
How you live, your health, medical history or mobility issues, and they’ll include everything – right down to how you prefer your tea, the music you like, your hobbies and interests and so on. Plus, it’s your home, so we’d like to know how you like to have things done.
We treat you as the whole person you are – with the utmost respect and care.
Also, we’re happy to liaise with your Occupational Therapist (if appropriate) to ensure that all your essential equipment is in place prior to your hospital discharge.
Importantly, we will match your interests and needs to the best-suited care team, and you’ll have the chance to meet them beforehand.
5.Your First Care Visit
There’s no need to worry about tidying up; that’s all part of our job, and we’re keen to get started for you.
After introductions, your carer will log on to their electronic system to document each visit and update your care plan. This information can also be accessed by your loved ones in real time – with your permission.
Let’s settle in. In no time, life will be easier, more comfortable and more secure. You can look forward to a delicious hot meal, clean bedding and a lovely, clear kitchen. You will be cared for in the true sense of the word, and soon be looking forward to the next visit.
6.Our Care Workers
Eaton carers are recruited and vetted with meticulous attention to detail and trained to the very highest standards to ensure high-quality, consistent support to match individual needs.
As part of our recruitment process, we prioritise local applications but also offer visa positions to experienced care workers who are already in the UK and have been employed in the UK for a minimum period of 12 -months.

Getting started
Your first care visit
This is the start of a great relationship between you and your care team! Your care team will start your scheduled visits and you can share with them how you like things done in your home. Here’s a brief overview of how your 1st care visit might look.
Firstly, relax. There’s no need to worry about tidying up or setting out crockery, after all that’s part of our job.
Upon arrival, a member of our client team will introduce you to your care worker, and you can have a chat to introduce yourselves to each other.
Your care worker will log onto their electronic system, which documents their visit and updates your care plan. Your loved ones will also be able to access this information (with your permission) through our family and friends app.
Your care worker will settle in and get to know you a little better, talking through your typical days, likes and dislikes, and finding out out about your hobbies and interests.
Your care worker will attend to your needs based on your agreed care plan, and again this will be updated on the friends and family app
At the end of the visit your care worker will log out of their system, update you on your forthcoming scheduled visits, and once they are confident you are happy they’ll then leave you in peace until the next visit.
