Did You Know?

Human beings are most definitely designed to connect with others. It’s part of who we are, and how we live our lives.

Loneliness is not good at all.

In our view, and we’re sure in yours too, being around another person lifts our spirits. Plus, it offers stimulation. Research also shows that it’s good for our brains. And, our hearts, as a result of reduced stress levels.

Meaningful connections

Elderly people who live alone often experience social isolation and feelings of loneliness, which can have a significant impact on your health. Companionship has a key role in your or your loved one’s life, not just because companions can provide help with household tasks and personal care, but also because they provide you with a meaningful human connection that greatly improves the quality of your life.

We take the time to understand you

At Eaton Home Care all of our services have an element of companion care, part of which is to accompany you on trips out to social appointments (within your capabilities), encouraging you to meet new people or perhaps rekindle old friendships. Our team will take the time to understand your or your loved one’s social networks and interests, and encourage you to maintain and add to them, where possible. Even for a short time, the company of a good, kind and caring person offers understanding and a strong form of connection. Not least, socialising – perhaps just in a low-key way helps to maintain social skills and build confidence. Plus, it’s something to look forward to, which we all need in life.

In our experience, companionship is extremely important.

From Eaton Home Care: What We Offer

Let’s call it your companion connection senior care programme.

In other words, a regular, trusted, friendly face and compassionate camaraderie throughout the week – or however often you think you may need it.

Perhaps you would like someone to:

Cook your favourite meals – and perhaps even eat with you

Assist with your weekly shopping – extra reassurance to make sure you’re safe. And, that you don’t forget anything on your list!

Take you out and about. It’s so much more enjoyable with someone else, and they can keep an eye on your mobility, too. Where would you like to go?

Support with domestic tasks and chores. For example, changing your bedding, hoovering, tidying, cleaning and laundry.

Sit and chat. Catch up on the news, read the paper together, or why not enjoy a game of cards or a board game? Our carer could become a regular companion that will  offer so much more than support with your domestic items. They can become a true, trusted friend.

Your Tailored Plan: Companion Care in Cambridge

All Eaton Home Care’s services have a degree of companion care hardwired into them – including our services for home care in Cambridge.

After all, warm understanding and genuine care underpins everything we do. However, this service takes it further, and we’ll take the time to fully understand your needs: your interests, hobbies, the music, films and TV programmes you like – and much else besides.

Even your social networks, which we’ll encourage you to maintain. Have you stopped going to your book club, for example? Maybe you can’t get there anymore because you’ve given up joining.

Perhaps you’d like to rejoin; we can help make it happen.
